Undergraduate Open Days

Our Open Days are the best way to get a taste of life at Sussex. You’ll learn more about our courses, have the opportunity to chat to current students and meet the academics you’ll be learning from.

We are not running any more Open Days in 2023.

Register for updates from us and we’ll let you know details of our 2024 Open Days nearer the time.

In the meantime, you can join our Discover Sussex: Online Information Session on Wednesday 13 December from 5pm to 8pm.

On-campus Open Days

At an Open Day you can:

  • meet the academics you’ll be learning from to find out more about your subject of interest
  • talk to current students about life at Sussex and in Brighton
  • get practical advice from our expert staff to make your application to Sussex stand out
  • hear from our teams in Admissions, Student Support, Careers, Housing, Placements, Student Finance, Study Abroad and more
  • explore our beautiful campus on a guided tour and check out our facilities and accommodation options
  • attend a dedicated session for Mature Students.

Our Open Days run from 9am to 3.30pm. We will send you a programme of the day’s events in the weeks leading up to the Open Day to help you plan and prioritise the events that interest you the most. Most talks last around 40 minutes and you can join as many on the day as you’d like. You can also get help from our student ambassadors around campus.

Travel options

Our campus is well connected by public transport, including buses and trains. If you choose public transport we’ll plant a tree as part of our sustainability mission – find out more below.

If you’re driving, you can use parking spaces on campus. Parking is limited, so you’ll need to let us know if you need a space when booking your Open Day place. We will send you a permit in advance, on a first come, first served basis. If you’d like to visit Brighton after the event, you can leave your car on campus for the day (vehicles are left the owner’s risk).

Campus accessibility

Open Days can be busy events. We want your visit to be safe and enjoyable, so here is some accessibility information to help you prepare for your visit.

You can also visit the Student Centre and speak with members of the Student Support Unit throughout the day to hear about the information and support available to students.

Disabled parking

When you book your place you can let us know your access requirements, including parking. When you arrive on campus you will need to display your blue badge. You will then be directed to one of our disabled parking spaces, which will be allocated on a first come first served basis on the day.

Making your way around campus

All rooms and lecture theatres used on Open Days have wheelchair access. There are accessible toilets available from all of our locations on-campus.

All of our lecture theatres and rooms have a floor plan with exit routes and assistance points. If you have any questions about the routes you can ask the member of staff and they will be happy to help.

To find out about accessible campus tours, head to the campus tour departure point and a member of staff or student ambassador will be happy to help.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome on campus.

Quiet spaces on campus

Our campus has lots of open space where you can get away from the crowds. At every Open Day there will be an allocated quiet room if you need to take some time out. Just check the event programme for details.
