Developmental and Clinical Psychology

We aim to advance knowledge and practice to psychological development across the lifespan, with the core objective of translating research to clinical, policy and public contexts. Our work spans developmental psychopathology, quantitative behavioural genetics, clinical psychology and the development of cognition, perception, language and communication in human and non-human animals. In collaboration with the Sussex Partnership Trust and other UK and international service providers, we have also made significant contributions to youth and adolescent mental health research and practice.

Prof Kate Cavanagh is the group leader. Members of the Developmental and Clinical Psychology Group are also actively involved in Applied Behavioural Science.
